The Nigeria Police Force is the principal law enforcement agency in Nigeria. It has staff deployment across the 36 states of the country and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).

The command and control of the Nigeria Police Force are under the Inspector General of Police.

For administrative ease, the Force is divided into seven (7) administrative departments, viz.

Finance and Administration; Operations; Logistics; Force Criminal Investigation Department; Training; Research and Planning; and Information and Communication Technology, each headed by a Deputy Inspector General of Police.

How To Apply for Nigeria Police Recruitment 2021

To apply for the recruitment, applicants must have a functional email address and mobile phone number and fill and submit the online form at the web address – www.policerecruitment.ng

Applicants must ensure to print out the information that is automatically sent to their submitted email and not forget to copy and save their registration number for future correspondences.

This is because applicants will be required to present a hardcopy of an email message sent to them if they’re eventually shortlisted and contacted for the next stage of the recruitment process.

The Force warned applicants against registering multiple times as that would mean automatic disqualification from the recruitment exercise.

Guarantors’ form

Applicants are directed to download and fill a Guarantors’ Form, presenting verifiable references from two guarantors.

The two guarantors must be picked from a pool that includes traditional rulers, magistrates, local government chairpersons, heads of educational institutions attended, career civil servants not below the rank of Grade Level 12, police officers not below the rank of CSP, or military officers not below the rank of Lieutenant Colonel.

People Disqualified from Applying For Nigeria Police Force Recruitment

A candidate who is suffering from any one of the underlisted abnormalities or deformities shall not be accepted for enlistment into the Nigeria Police Force:

  • Impediment in speech
  • Gross malformation of teeth or jaw preventing proper mastication of food
  • Knock knees
  • Bowlegs
  • Bent knees, i.e Knees which cannot be straightened when standing at attention
  • Deformed Hands which cannot perform the full functions of the hand
  • Defective eyesight or squint eyes
  • Amputation of any part of the body

Others instructed to not apply to include people with tattoos, bodily scars, defective eyesight or squint eyes, protruding navel, gross malformation of teeth and deformed hands that cannot perform the full functions of the hand. Applicants must also not be pregnant at the time of recruitment.

General Requirements For Nigeria Police Force 2021

Applicants must have a passion for a career in the Nigeria Police Force and must satisfy the following:
i). Nationality: Be a Nigerian citizen by birth and possess National Identity Number (NIN).
ii). Age: Must not be less than 18 years of age or more than 25 years of age.
iii). Education: Must have an O’ Level Certificate at least Five (5) Credits level passes including Mathematics and English Language in not more than two sittings in WASSCE/GCE/N ECO/NABTEB.
iv). Character: Must be of good character and must not have been convicted of any criminal offence.
v). Height: Must not be less than 1.67 metres in height for men and 1.64 metres for women.
vi). Chest Measurement: Must not have less than 86cm (34 inches) expanded chest measurement (for men only).
vii). Physical Features: Must not have any one of the following abnormalities or deformities: Speech Impediment, Knock Knees, Bow Legs, Bent Knees, Flat Feet, Deformed Hands which cannot perform the full functions of the hand, Tattoos, Bodily Scar, Defective Eyesight or Squint Eyes, Amputation of any part of the body, Gross Malformation of teeth, Protruding Navel.
viii). Pregnancy: Must not be pregnant at the time of Recruitment.
ix). Financial Status: Must be free from any pecuniary embarrassment.
x). Guarantors’ Form: Must download and fill the Guarantors’ Form, presenting verifiable references from any two (2) of the following: Traditional Rulers, Magistrate, Local Government Chairman, Heads of Educational Institutions attended, Career Civil Servant not below the rank of Grade Level 12, Police Officer not below the rank of CSP, or Military Officer not below the rank of Lieutenant Colonel. Possession of a valid National Drivers’ License is an added advantage.
